DAY 01: ARRIVE AMRITSAR
Arrive Amritsar by flight/train. Meeting and assistance on arrival at airport/station and transfer to hotel. Rest of the day free for independent activities. Evening visit illuminated Golden Temple. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 02: IN AMRITSAR
Breakfast at hotel. Morning proceed to visit Golden Temple-the sacred Sikh sanctuary, marbled, bronzed and covered with gold leaf wherein the Guru Granth Sahib-the Bible of the Sikhs is placed reverently. Also, see the community kitchen where 10000 pilgrims are fed daily on voluntary and complimentary basis.
Jallianwala Bagh (garden) famous for one of the most tragic yet landmark events in the history of India. This is where the Amritsar Massacre of 1919 took place. The British Army soldiers upon receiving orders from General Dyer opened fire on a huge, unarmed gathering of men, women and children on April 13, 1919.
Afternoon (1400 hrs) proceed to visit Wagah Border. Located on the Indo-Pakistan border, Wagah is 28 km from the Amritsar main town. A good-number of visitors come to this place to see the change of guard ceremony and the flag hoisting and lowering activities which are done with great skill and precision by the BSF (Border Security Force) and PR (Pakistani Rangers) have jointly followed since 1959. The ceremony will take approx 45 minutes. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 03: DEPART AMRITSAR
Breakfast at hotel. In time transfer to airport/station to connect flight/train for onward destination.
