DAY 01: ARRIVE COLOMBO & DRIVE TO HABARANA
On arrival in Sri Lanka you will be met and assisted by our Airport Representative, who will direct you to your very own Chauffeur who will transfer you to Habarana, a small village with excellent hotel accommodation, a central location for all the ancient city sites. Check in at your hotel on arrival and spend the rest of the evening at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 02: HARABANA – POLONNARUWA
After Breakfast at the hotel leave for one of the best kept ruins of ancient Ceylon – the UNESCO World Heritage City of Polonnaruwa (43 km / approx 1 hr drive), which was the Capital of Sri Lanka from the 11th to 13th century. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 03: POLONNARUWA – DAMBULLA – SIGIRIYA – KANDY
After breakfast head for Dambulla and explore the famous Golden Rock cave temple which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A sacred pilgrimage site for 22 centuries, this cave monastery, a vast isolated rock mass with its five caverns is the largest best-preserved cave-temple complex in Sri Lanka.
Afterwards leave for Sigiriya. Enjoy the exhilarating climb to the top of the rock fortress of Sigiriya – a 5th Century “Fortress in the Sky”.
Continue on to the bustling hill capital of Kandy (92 km / approx 3 hrs drive). En route you will visit a spice garden in Matale. You will check in at your hotel on arrival and once you are rested, continue on to your tour of Kandy. In the evening, you will visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, and later enjoy the Kandyan Cultural show at the Kandyan Arts & Cultural Centre. The show features the graceful and rhythmic dancers and drummers culminating in an impressive fire walking display. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 04: KANDY – PINNAWALA – NUWARA ELIYA
After breakfast leave for Pinnawala to visit the Elephant orphanage. This orphanage was set up by the government to take care of baby elephants lost or abandoned in the wild.
On completion leave for the heart of Tea Country, Nuwara Eliya, En route visit the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens where a rare collection of tropical exotic and indigenous flora including the famous Orchid House could be viewed. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 05: NUWARA ELIYA – COLOMBO
After breakfast leave for Kitulgala a small town perched on the hills that slope down to the flowing waters of the Kelani River. The main attractions include white water rafting, trekking and the Kelani Forest Reserve a popular bird watching location. Enjoy a thrilling day of white water rafting. On completion leave for Colombo, and check in in at your hotel on arrival. If you have spare time you can take in the sights of the capital city, or alternatively indulge in some shopping. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 06: DEPART COLOMBO
Now that you are at the end of your journey with us, after breakfast your chauffeur will comfortably take you to the international airport in time for your departure flight.
