DAY 01: ARRIVE BENGALURU
Arrive Bangalore. Meeting and assistance on arrival and transfer to hotel. Afternoon city sightseeing tour of Bangalore, visiting the Lal Bagh which has a variety of old Trees, Fountains, Lotus Pools, Terraces and an assortment of Tropical Herbs and Sub-Tropical Herbs. Also see the Government Buildings and the Maharaja’s Palace. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 02: BENGALURU – SHRAVANBELAGOLA – SRIRANGAPATNA – MYSURU BY ROAD
After breakfast, drive to Mysuru en route visiting Shravanabelagola and Srirangapatam (225 km / approx 4.5 hrs drive). Shravanabelagola, the 1000-year-old colossus 17-metre high monolithic statue of Gomteshwara, the famous Jain saint, attracts pilgrims from all over India especially during festival times. Srirangapatam – 16 km from Mysore, this fort was the stronghold of Tipu Sultan, son of Haider Ali. Tipu made a last minute ditch against the British in 1799 before surrendering his kingdom. Among the many fort buildings still intact, are Tipu’s airy Summer Palace and his tomb at the Darya Daulat Bagh (garden). Here, is also the celebrated Sri Ranganatha Temple. DAY 03: IN MYSURU
Breakfast at hotel. Morning city tour of Mysuru visiting the Palace of Maharaja built in 1911-12. The Palace is harmonious syntheses of the Hindu and Saracenic styles of architecture with archways, domes, turrets, colonnades and sculptures which are magnificent. One of the largest Palaces in the country with some art treasures, it is beautifully restored and maintained. Afternoon visit Chamundeshwari Temple, located at the top of Chamundi Hills and one of most prominent temples in Mysore. Dedicated to the Goddess Chamundeshwari (Chamundi), deity of the Mysore Royal Family and Mysore as well, this temple is about 1000 steps from the foot of the hill. Evening visit Brindavan Gardens of Mysore is undeniably one of the best terrace gardens in the world. It is located about 12 km towards the north west of the Mysore city. Brindavan gardens with its illuminated fountains, botanical park, extensive varieties of plants and fulfilled boating, is place for everyone. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 04: MYSURU – NAGARHOLE BY ROAD
After breakfast, drive to Nagarhole National Park also known as Rajiv Gandhi National Park (80 km / approx 3 hrs drive). Upon arrival, check-in at hotel. Afternoon jungle safari inside the park. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 05: NAGARHOLE – HASSAN BY ROAD
Early morning jungle safari inside the park. Return to hotel for breakfast. After breakfast, drive to Hassan (145 km / approx 3 hrs drive). Upon arrival at Hassan, Check-in at hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 06: HASSAN – HOSAPETE BY ROAD
Breakfast at hotel. Morning city tour of Hassan, visiting Belur famous for it Hoysala architecture. Its Temple of Lord Channakeshava is embellished with carving which has few equals in the world. Halebid – The seat of Hoysala Kingdom, its great Hoyaleswara Temple was built in the typical Hoysala style architecture. A stellar base with the emblem of the lion and elephants seemingly supporting the temple, signify stability. Later drive to Hosapete (310 km / approx 6 hrs drive), Upon arrival at Hosapete, check-in at hotel. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 07: IN HOSAPETE (HOSPET)
After breakfast, day excursion to Hampi the once beautiful capital city of Vijayanagar Empire and greater than Rome, had palaces, temples and sculptures, spread all over. The city was razed to the ground by the Sultanates of South in 1565. Some of the ineresting ruines remaining are the Virupaksha, Vittala & Hazara Rama temples huge Ganesha and Narasimha images, the elephant stables, the Queen’s Bath, carvings on the Ramachandra temple, Lotus Mahal. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 08: HOSAPETE – BADAMI BY ROAD
After breakfast, drive to Badami (130 km / approx 3 hrs drive). Upon arrival at Badami, check-in at hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 09: IN BADAMI
After breakfast, excursion to Badami also known as Vatapi, rich with Hindu and Jain temples carved out of sand stone hills. The carved temples date back to the 6th century. Of these, three are Hindu and one Jain. Sculptured out of solid rock, they are adorned with carvings. The Fort atop a hill, encloses large granaries, treasury & a watch tower. The famed Malegitti Shivalaya temple set on the summit of a hill is built of stones joined without mortar. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 10: BADAMI – GOA BY ROAD
After breakfast, drive to Goa (235 km / approx 5 hrs drive). Upon arrival at Goa, check-in at hotel. Rest of the day free for independent activities. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 11: IN GOA
Breakfast at hotel. Morning city sightseeing tour of Goa visiting the slopes of Altinho Hill for a breathtaking view of Panjim & river Mandovi. Then to Donapaula for a view of India’s larges natural harbour Marmgoa. Then to Old Goa visiting Basillica of Bom Jesus wherein is enshrined the body of St. Francis Xavier, in a silver ornate casket. Then to St. Cathedral, the biggest church in the East. St. Cajetan, built like St. Peters (Rome), Church of Lady Rosary & St. Monica. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 12: GOA – MUMBAI BY FLIGHT
Breakfast at hotel. In the transfer to airport to connect flight for Mumbai. Meeting and assistance on arrival and transfer to hotel. Rest of the day free for independent activities. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 13: IN MUMBAI
Breakfast at hotel. Morning excursion across the harbour to the world famous, 1200 years old Elephanta Caves, dedicated to Lord Shiva. The famous TRIMURTI sculpture signifying the trinity of the Creator, the Preserver and the Destroyer is located here. Afternoon city tour of Mumbai visiting to Gateway of India, Hanging Gardens on the slopes of Malabar Hills offering nice view of Marine Lines & Chowpatty Beach, Mani Bhawan (where Mahatama Gandhi used to stay) then to Dhobi Ghat Also drive past Afgan church, colourful Crawford Market and Marine Drive. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 14: DEPART MUMBAI
In time transfer to airport to connect flight for onward destination.
