DAY 01: ARRIVE DELHI
Arrive Delhi. Meeting and assistance on arrival transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 02: DELHI – CHANDIGARH BY TRAIN
Breakfast at hotel. In time transfer to station to board train for Chandigarh. Assistance on arrival and transfer to hotel. Afternoon city tour of Chandigarh, visiting the Rock Garden, Rose Garden, Leisure Valley, a garland of gardens that beautifies the city are some of the breathtaking attraction of the city. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 03: IN CHANDIGARH
After breakfast, visit Nada Sahib Gurudwara which is located in Panchkula on the bank of river Ghagar. Later visit Gurudwara Sri Amb Sahib, Guru Har Rai, the 7th Guru of Sikhs visited this place to meet his discipline, Bhai Kooram. The unique thing about Gurudwara is that it has a mango tree, which bears the fruit even during winters, as commanded by Guru Ji. these mangoes are distributed as Prasad to the Sangat. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 04: CHANDIGARH – ANANDPUR SAHIB BY ROAD
After breakfast, drive to Anandpur Sahib (85 km / approx. 2 hrs drive). Upon arrival, check-in at hotel. The celebration for Hola Mohalla will be started in Gurudwara Patalpuri Sahib with the recitation of Akhand Path and beating of 5 old ‘Nagaras’. Community kitchen has also been set up for Hola Mohalla fest to serve the devotees. ‘Langar’ has been served in the roads as well leading to these 2 towns. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 05: IN ANANDPUR SAHIB (Hola Mohalla)
Breakfast at hotel. Hola Mohalla is celebrated to reaffirm fraternity and brotherhood and reminding people of “valour & defense preparedness”, concept very dear to the 10th Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singh ji. Colorful processions are organized on the occasion of Hola Mohalla, particularly in Anandpur Sahib and Muktsar (both in Indian Punjab). Sikhs, especially the Nihangs, dressed in their traditional martial costumes form part of the pageant.
Mock battles are also held followed by music, poetry and other competitions. The Nihang Singhs (members of the Sikh army founded by Guru Govind Singh) portray their skills with mock battles and displays of swordsmanship and horse riding. The Nihang Singhs also perform daring feats, such as Gatka (mock encounters), tent pegging, bareback horse-riding and standing erect on two speeding horses. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 06: ANANDPUR –AMRITSAR BY ROAD
After breakfast, drive to Amritsar (185 km / approx. 4 hrs drive). Upon arrival at Amritsar, check-in at hotel. Afternoon visit to Wagah Border. Located on the Indo-Pakistan border, Wagah is 28 km from the Amritsar town. A good number of visitors come to this place to see the change of guards ceremony and the flag hoisting and lowering activities which are done with great skill and precision by the border security forces of both the countries. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 07: FLY TO DELHI & DEPART DELHI
After breakfast, sightseeing tour of Amritsar visiting Golden Temple-the sacred Sikh sanctuary, marbled, bronzed and covered with gold leaf wherein the Guru Granth Sahib-the Bible of the Sikhs is place reverently. Also see the community kitchen where 10000 pilgrims are fed daily on voluntary and complimentary basis, the historic Jallianwala Bagh where Gen. Dyer’s bullets killed scores of innocent Indians. In the afternoon transfer to airport to connect flight for Delhi. Meeting and assistance on arrival and transfer to international airport to connect flight for onward destination.
