DAY 01: AGRA – JHANSI BY TRAIN & DRIVE TO ORCHHA
Pickup from Jhansi Railway Station at 1045 hrs and drive to Orchha (20 km / approx 45 min drive). Upon arrival at Orchha, check-in at hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Afternoon visit Orchha town, Orchha’s grandeur has been captured in stone, frozen in time and a rich legacy to the ages. For, on this medieval city, the hand of time has rested lightly and the palaces and the temples built by its Bundela rulers in the 16th and 17th century retain much of their prestine perfection. Jehangir Mahal, a tiered palace crowned by graceful chhatries has a spectacular view of soaring temple spires and cenotaphs. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 02: ORCHHA – KHAJURAHO BY ROAD
Breakfast at hotel. Morning drive to Khajuraho (180 km / approx 4 hrs drive). Upon arrival at Khajuraho, check-in at hotel. Afternoon visiting the Kandariya Mahadeo Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The other temples of interest are Chausath Yogini, Chitragupta etc. each with its own history and presiding deity. In the evening spectacular cultural dance show (Dance form from different Indian states) at Kandariya Art & Culture or Sound & Light show. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 03: KHAJURAHO – VARANASI BY FLIGHT
Breakfast at hotel. Morning city tour of Khajuraho visiting the Eastern group of temples that consist of the Parasvanath Temple, which is the only Jain Temple surviving at Khajuraho and has excellent sculptures on the outer walls of the Sanctum, The Javeri Temple dedicated to Vishnu. The other temples in this group are those dedicated to Brahma, Yamuna and Adinath. Afternoon transfer to airport to connect flight for Varanasi.
