Itinerary

Day 01 : Arrive Bodhgaya (Where Buddha Enlightened)

Arrive Bodhgaya by International flight. You will be met on your arrival and transferred to the hotel.
After refreshment start your visit to around Bodhgaya. Uruvela forest & Mahakali Cave where Buddha practiced the extreme method for 6 years, Sujata house – the place where Sujata offers the milk rice, Niranjana River – the river where Buddha flowed his bowl, the place where Sudda offers the 8 tacks of grass to Buddha.
Return back to hotel for early dinner. After dinner around 08 pm visit to Mahabodhi Temple (where Buddha attained his enlightenment under Bodhi tree and after his enlightenment spent 7 weeks in 7 different places in that garden).
Overnight at the hotel.

Today, you will wake up early at 4:30 am and have early morning breakfast at 5:30 at the hotel. Check out from hotel around 06:00 am and proceed to Varanasi by road.
Upon arrival at Varanasi, check-in at hotel.
In the afternoon visit Sarnath (where Buddha gave his first sermon), Dhammarajika Stupa, Dhemak Stupa, Ashoka Pillar, Mulagandakuti Vihara, Sarnath Museum and Chaukhandi Stupa.
Overnight stay at Varanasi.

Breakfast at hotel.
Later drive to Sravasti (350 km / approx 8 hours drive). Upon arrival at Sravasti, check-in at hotel. Later you will be given sightseeing tour of Sravasti.
Saheth: Once the site of Jetavana Monastery, the place houses numerous shrines, stupas and monasteries spreading over an area of 32 acres. One of the earliest Stupas, probably dating back to 3rd century BC, contained relics of the Buddha. Excavations revealed a colossal statue of Lord Buddha.
Maheth: Sprawling over an area of 400 acres, the place is identified with the remains of the city in original. Excavations led to the discovery of massive gates and ramparts and many other signs that speak of the prosperity of ancient Sravasti.
Angulimala’s Stupa: Pakki Kutti is believed to be the Angulimala’s Stupa. Legend has it that Angulimala was a dreaded dacoit of the region who used to wear a necklace of fingers chopped from his victims. One day, when he was about to kill his mother in a fit of rage, Lord Buddha met him. His words converted Angulimala who decided to follow the path of Buddhism.
Overnight stay at Sravasti.

After breakfast at the hotel, check out and drive to Lumbini (260 km / approx 6 hours)
“the birth place of Lord Buddha”.
At Nepal border, you will be required to declare the documents like permit to enter Nepal. After this process enter Nepal region and go to Lumbini (approximate 25 Km away, 45 minutes drive).
Upon arrival at Lumbini check-in at hotel. Later visit Kapilavastu, around 45 minutes drive.
After sightseeing at Kapilavastu, visit local Monastery, Lawkamuni Stupa.
Overnight stay at Lumbini.

Breakfast at hotel.
Later check out from the hotel and start your day with visit to Lumbini Garden (Buddha’s birthplace, Mayadevi Pond, Ashoka Pillar and Bodhi Tree).
After sightseeing at Lumbini Garden drive to Kushinagar (where Buddha attained Mahaparinirvana). Since you will be crossing the Nepal border and entering India, the same process needs to be repeated at the border.
Arrive at Kushinagar (210 km / approx 4 hours drive) and check-in at hotel.
Later visit to Mahaparinirvana Temple and Myanmar Monastery, Matha-Kuar Shrine, the place where Buddha used water to wash himself last, and Ramabhar Stupa (The Cremation Stupa).
Overnight stay at Kushinagar.

After breakfast, drive to Vaishali.
Upon arrival at Vaishali check-in at the hotel. Later visit to the Relic Stupa, Sacred Pond, Kauluha, Asokan Pillar. Then drive continues to RajgirHouse of Kings”.
Rajgir – Rajgir or Rajgrih means the home of Royalty. Lord Buddha had spent many years in Rajgir and also delivered sermons here and proselytized emperor Bimbisar at the Griddhakoota hill. The Jivekarmavan Monastery was the favorite residence for Buddha. Even Bimbisar gave Venuvan Vihar to Buddha for his residence. It was also the venue for the first Buddhist Council. Today Rajgir has come up as one of the most important pilgrimage sites for the Buddhists.
Rajgir also has some very beautiful Hindu and Jain temples which attract Hindus and Jains also to the place. Not only as a place for worship, Rajgir has come up as a health and winter resort with its warm water ponds. These ponds are said to contain some medicinal properties which help in the cure of many skin diseases. The added attraction of Rajgir is the Ropeway which takes you uphill to the Shanti Stupa and Monasteries built by the Japanese Devotees on top of the Ratnagiri hills.
Arrive at Rajgir about 9 pm, check in hotel and dinner there.

Later drive to Bodhgaya (185 km / approx 5 hours drive) en route visiting Nalanda Ruins and Sariputtra Stupa.
Nalanda – “Nalanda is well known as an ancient seat of learning. However, today this ancient university lies in ruins. The place not only has the remains of the great university but also many monasteries, temples, and viharas built by different kings. Though the Buddha visited Nalanda several times during his lifetime, this famous centre of Buddhist learning shot to fame much later, during 5th–12th centuries AD. In this first residential international university of the world, 2,000 teachers and 10,000 students from all over the Buddhist world lived and studied.”

Then return back to hotel. After lunch, continue with your drive to Bodhgaya. On the way to Bodhgaya visit to Rajgir (Venuvan, Vishwashanti Stupa, Gridhakuta Hill, Jevaka Garden, Bimbisara Jail, Treasury Cave, Relic Stupa and the mark of the court which left from the ancient merchandises).
Arrive at Bodhgaya around 5 pm check in at hotel.
Overnight stay at Bodhgaya.

You can pay homage at Mahabodhi Temple compound in the early morning.
Breakfast at hotel. Later our representative will provide you departure transfer to Bodhgaya airport for your onward journey.
