Itinerary

Day 01 : Arrive Cochin

Arrive Cochin by International flight. Upon your arrival at  you will be transferred to the
Hotel.
In the afternoon , you will be given visit to various Churches in Cochin. Visit St. Francis church located in Fort Cochin built in 1503. It is believed to be India’s oldest European built church. The church was constructed by the Portuguese. The great Vasco da Gama died in Kochi in 1524 during his third visit to India and was buried here in St. Francis church. Fourteen years later, the remains of his mortal were taken to Portugal. Later you will visit The Santa Cruz Cathedral Basilica in Fort Kochi. This is one of the eight Basilicas located in India. This heritage edifice of Kerala is also one of the finest and imposing churches in India. This basilica serves as the cathedral church of the Diocese of Cochin, the second oldest Diocese of India.
Later you will have some free time to explore the city on your own or opt for some optional tours.

After breakfast drive to the famous St. Thomas Church at Malayattor. St. Thomas, one of the ten apostles of Jesus Christ, had landed on the Kerala coast at Muziris, Kodungalloor Port in 52 C.E. and he built the Malayattoor Church. It is said that he retreated to the hills of Malayattoor and prayed. Continue your visit and drive back to Cochin and visit Basilica of Our Lady, Vallarpadam. A major pilgrim centre for Christians. Church of Our Lady of Ransom is one of the oldest European Churches in India built by the Portuguese Missionaries. The church dedicated to the Holy Mary of Vallarpadam, popularly known as ‘Vallarapadath Amma’, located in the middle of Vallarpadam, a small idyllic island on the Vembanad Lake. Later visit St Georges Forane Church, also known as Edappally Mar Gee Varghese Sahada Palli or Edappally Palli is a Catholic church situated in Edappally. The church feast is celebrated in the month of April-May. Thousands of devotees participate in the feast.

Later drive to St. Alphonsa Pilgrime Centre Bharananganam, in Pala. Continue your drive to Thekkady. Thekkady offers you fresh aroma of spices and a thrilling experience of wild life. You will have an option of taking a nature walk. (Tourists are led by trained tribal guides through different nature trails in this programme. The walk through diverse terrain gives a ringside view of the forest. Though it is difficult to spot many wild animals, you will definitely get to see varieties of birds and butterflies and some animals. The trail passes through evergreen forests and moist, deciduous forests, interspersed with marshy grasslands. This interpretative programme is of three hours duration. This tour is recommended only for groups of say a minimum of 8–10 persons and above and not for Individuals.

Later, proceed for boat ride in Periyar lake and there are also options to enjoy a Nature walk.

Later, drive to Kumarakom, enroute you will make a stop for lunch. After lunch drive to Kottayam and visit St. Mary’s Church (Cheriya Palli & Valiya Palli) at Kottayam, continue your drive to Kumarakom and check in at the hotel.
You will have free time to enjoy the nature.

Later, drive to Alleppey and visit Mount Carmel Cathedral Church. After the visit you will embark the houseboat. During the cruise you can visit famous Champakulam St. Mary’s Syro-Malabar Catholic Forane Church, an ancient Christian Church in Kerala.

Later, disembark the houseboat and you will be transferred to a beach resort in Marari.
This resort is located in the coastal area and there are many Christian churches on route. If time permits, you will be able to visit some of them.

Later, you will visit famous Arthunkal St. Andrew’s Basilica Church and St. Mary’s Forane Church Thankey, Ancient Pilgrim Church of Coastal Belt, where you can see the miraculous statue of the Passion of Our Lord.

Today full day will be at leisure. You have an option of spending the time on the beach, taking Ayurvedic massage at the resort or walk around the resort.

This morning you will have some free time to relax.
Later you will be transferred to Cochin.
Arrive Cochin and check in at the hotel.

In time, you will be transferred to the Cochin airport to connect your onward flight.
